What does the name of Jesus mean?

What name should we be baptized into?

Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Acts 19:5 And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Jesus said that He came in His Father's name. What is His name?

John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 

John 14:26 But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name.

Acts 4:12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. 

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 

We don't baptize a person "in the name of Jesus" like saying a magic word over someone. We don't just "use" the name of Jesus, we "do" things in the name of Jesus. We represent Him and His Kingdom, like an ambassador.

Did you know that when we are baptized, we are baptized into the name of Jesus and we are baptized into the Body of Christ?

1 Corinthians 12:13 For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.
