My best guess is that you are rubbing the patina off a little too soon when it is still really wet. You should be able to get quite a few uses out of a single relief block. Try letting the patina dry a little longer (not completely dry but not "wet" either) and see if you have better luck.

I have finally purchased some of the vintaj patina sets and I love what you can do with them! However I find that the relief block (dark grey sanding part) doesn't last very long. Do I need to buy a new block for every piece that I patina? I find that old patina rubs off on the new piece when I try to remove from the design area. Thank you!
