My parents were homesteaders who were children during the Depression and WWII. This is basically just a way of life for me even when I lived in cities or small towns.
Recently forest fires cut off the main road to our community and stores started running out of stuff and panic buying began. I was on holidays from work and was spending so much time on yard work and gardening that basically didn’t notice.
It’s been around a month now and the roads are open to one way traffic so supplies are coming in more regularly again. I easily have enough food and supplies to make it though for months except for gas which got low. We have bikes though, and two feet.
This is why I prep though. I’m not waiting for the apocalypse. I’m 60 and not exactly Mad Max material. I am sort of ready for the problems life throws at us.
No need for conspiracy theories, they just make you unstable emotionally and mentally. Nature itself will win in the end. We are always just one bad day away from SHTF.
Live your life, be kind to others and enjoy the simple things.

I’m new to prepping, but was always intrigued by folks who did. The pandemic was my wake up call and 2021-2022 was my wife’s. Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I used to watch Doomsday Preppers, and each episode contained the main fear the preppers had. At the end of the episode the narrator would downplay these threats. Now fast forward to 2023, and EVERY of their threats are not only possible, but highly probable.

A REALIST! Exactly. No one can say with certainty what will happen but just as squirrels gather food for the winter or hard times, so should we. I don’t want to see things turn worse than they are but history of the human civilization says change is inevitable. From one bald, father of 3 to another, keep doing what you’re doing!

We haven’t had cell phone service in my area for the last 2 days. I have seen people losing their minds over it, and that is a very minor problem.

I started getting ready in 2019 after I had a dream. My faith is in Christ yet I'm doing what I'm being guided to do.
The way I started was buying 5-10 extra cans of food. It adds up. Taught myself how to can too.
I'm still seeing life as an adventure, therefore I'm at peace.

gotta admit i use to watch another prepper guy and your channel was something to watch while waiting for his next video but in the last 2 months or so you have become the main video i watch for information about what is going on, you dont mess about, you tell the facts as you know them, you give solid advise on how to prepare for whats going on at the time and you dont go over the top - keep up the good work you help a lot of people

I've a suburban garden, semi detached home in the UK and a family.
I grow and improve my veg garden plot 8m x 5 m / with greenhouse and keep 3 chickens for eggs and fertilizer. Grow some grass and compost. Put some tins and supplies away. Some silver and cash... I'm as ready as I can and ignore the mainstream news propaganda.... It serves me well.

I always err on the side of caution with Prepper channels because of how quickly these creators tend to devolve into peddling harmful, corrosive rhetoric (y’all probably know exactly what I mean).

I’ve been so impressed with this channel and it’s one of the few voices in this space that seem to cut through the BS and address both the bigger picture along with the specifics of how to be prepared at whatever life stage we are in or living space we have. I so appreciate you and your work!

That is the main reason why I stick with this channel. There is so much of the "we're going to get nuked in the next 24 to 48 hours" and there is only so much one can take, while trying to focus on what truly needs to be done and prepared. I prefer the level headed approach.

Animals fascinate me. If you watch them for any length of time and pay attention, they gather food & store it, they move locations during certain seasons, they seem to disappear when a natural disaster is on it's if we pay attention we can follow their lead. This is literally what a prepper is; someone who plans just like the animals do.

I've done my homework, but I try not to follow the world news too closely because it causes me to worry, and worrying is not going to help me at all. I plan as though a grid-down is going to happen within the year, collect the necessary supplies to make it through and get out of debt as fast as I can. I keep myself as healthy as possible, both physically & mentally.
That's the absolute best that ANY of us can do. Everything else is just a craps shoot.
