Relax and drift off to sleep as I flip through a 1969-70 Western Auto catalog and comment on the items within. This vintage catalog is a wonderful time capsule that people of all ages will find fascinating. Hopefully this video will relax you enough to fall asleep.

My videos are best enjoyed using headphones or earbuds.

This is video number 547 of this channel.

The videos on my YouTube channel portray some of the typical day-to-day activities that I do for relaxation. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Too much stress is harmful to your well-being and in today’s fast-paced world, stress management is more important than ever, and so I hope this ASMR video acts as a stress reliever for those watching and a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time falling asleep.

I am 56 years old and you managed to bring me back to my childhood. Thank you for all off your effort you put in your videos and all the best from the Netherlands.

Another thought came to me. There are so Many people you have touched in a positive way. It takes a special person to do this type of work without wanting the notoriety of being "famous". You have earned our respect and admiration and yet we don't know your name or what you look like. I feel as though I truly know you though, through your stories. It has made me realize that a person's name or how they look has nothing to do with who they are. Cheers to you!

I would like you to know, I have been watching you for around the last two and a half years or so. But never had a YouTube account, but recently said you know what, let’s make one. So I would like to thank you dearly for the awesome quality content over the years. I fall asleep to your videos every night. Ive gotten into pens and you’ve reignited me into a lot of different things and I think I’ve become a better person because of you. So if you see this, Thank you

Howdy. I have been watching your channel for about 10 years now. I have never commented but I have always been a subscriber. I didn't realize how much I relied on your work for sleep and relaxation until the past couple of months when the videos slowed down a bit and I learned that I missed them.
I wanted to finally say THANK YOU. I know you have been going through some things and we are all thinking about you and appreciate you more than you may know!

There is nobody 55 or older that doesn't truly appreciate this. Just fantastic. Reminds me of the old S $ H Green stamps days and their catalogue. Love to see that again.

I'll be 53 in November... This is so reminiscent of the 70's when I was growing up. I had a one speed Columbia 20 inch bike with banana seat and high rise handlebars that I bought from my neighbor for $5 that I loved. On the way home with it I went right over the handlebars on their steep driveway not wearing a shirt, got some wicked road rash on my chest and broke my glasses 😏. Rode wheelies on that thing all the time...Used wadded aluminum foil to remove light rust from the chrome. Thank you for an excellent relaxing video 😁 Western Auto really had it going on 😉

Yes, I made it through to the end. I thought this would make a good sleeper, but it was to nostalgic and interesting. I think we are close in age. I was born in 1956 and all your references to what you had or did at certain ages line right up to mine! I have been listening for about 8 years or so and this was by far my favorite. Listening to your life stories bring such calm and warmth. You have led such a blessed life, thank you for sharing the memories with us. That catalog, '(Something) Auto', really had it going on!

$500 in 1969 is staggering really. I remember my dad in mid-late 70’s spending £800 on a 3-in-1 system. He did like his tech. Our house in 1975 was purchased for £9000 I think. Imagine spending nearly 10% the value of your property on a SINGLE hifi now!!

Is like having an American grand dad showing me this catalogue. Super cozy and relaxing 😴👍👍
I'm Norwegian, but I do have US relatives.

Im several years younger than the catalog, but it brings back memories! The men smoking Pipes, when I was a kid so many men in the family smoked pipes! I couldnt tell you the last time I saw anyone smoking a pipe. My grandfather had a glass door rifle cabinet. Never in a million years would us kids even touch it, let alone open it. I guess time does fly, as they say.

Love the catalog videos, especially older ones like this!

Catalogues such as these were much before my time, I was born in 2002. However I feel an odd fondess and sort of vicarious nostalgia whilst browsing along during this. Thank you for the excellent video as always, have an above average day! All the best, -Patrick

I was very tired and played this right as I lied down for an afternoon nap. I couldn't tell you when I fell asleep (must've been almost instantaneous) but I woke up around the time you were looking at the tires. Your voice had been narrating something in my dream, something completely unrelated.

(edit:)
Wow, I was curious so just went back a couple of minutes in the video.... Some of the things you say are "had to be replaced", "wiper blades"(where the word "purple" could be understood), and "jacks" – well, the last part of my dream was about this queen that had passed away and how she *had to be replaced*, followed by a description of the court (apparently a farewell ceremony) where the predominant colours where green and *purple* and some of the people in attendance seating on these decorated benches were life sized *jacks*, like jacks from a deck of cards. It seems that in the light sleep of my afternoon nap your words were loosely guiding the events in my dream – and that's just the part I can remember. Interesting.
