Learn Android Tutorial 1.13- Finish new XML and Learn about Weight

This video is the 13th in a web series that I am creating to help you learn Android programming so you can create apps and eventually how to learn to write games for android phones. I want to explain things in a way that everyone can understand, even if you have no experience with Java, XML, C++, OpenGL, or as a matter of fact, any other programming language.

If you do have a lot of experience with programming, these first videos will be really slow for you, but my goal is to get everyone sprinting, but for now we have learn to crawl.

Hey so your website name, "mybringback" is in the center of the video (maybe its just me), but that was exactly helpful. Also having a blank line between objects in the text view of your .xml`s makes it a lot easier for the rest of us to follow along. Otherwise a great series!

Hey, I have started to learn android programming by your tutorials. But my main task is to do the application that will work with serial ports, send some simple commands in ASCII, and read replies. Do you have any experience in this? maybe you have a quick solution that can help?

The only comment that I have about this particular video is that you too close to the code for me to figure out what part of the code your working on. I'm getting lost and having to stop the video or go back to figure out where I am. Your doing a great job at keeping it interesting and I'm learning allot considering that I have very little programing background.

The watermark in the middle is a little annoying. I know that you don't want others to steal your video, but it would be better if you would put this to the upper right corner for example. btw nice video I learned how to write android apps on your tutorials and my app got over 100.000 downloads yesterday so I want to thank YOU! :) keep making these videos! :)

I like your tutorials, but the zooming is incredibly annoying. Why not just record HD and use fullscreen (or application width&height)?

Nice tutorial. But now it is difficult to follow, as you are zooming the video too much on the code, so most of the times it is only showing very small part of the code, where you are editing. It makes difficult where you are editing in the whole program, specially when the program is growing bigger.

Make the video window bigger, so that it contains more lines of the program. The videos are in HD, so there is no problem to read the text even if they are little zoomed out and small fonts.

@Rubenaccount Since we gave birth to an editText, we have to name it. The @+ is telling our baby to listen the efff up, because we are about to give him a name (or an identifier (or an id)), and his name is "editText1" we will use this to link up some code to this specific baby in java.
