Awesome job! This is a great project. I've been looking into diy replacements for LPS bulbs as they are so rare, but useful for a number of different experiments.

the magnet trick at 1:22 is definitely just demonstrating the effect of your conductive magnet/grounded hand holding it influencing electric fields around the pisslamp.

Microwave oven might be interesting..

Hey, awesome video! One small thing though. It might not be the magnetic field effecting the plasma, and it's likely just the conductivity of the magnet that's effecting the plasma with electric fields. I've done the same thing with other gas plasmas and got super excited when the magnet moved it, but then very sceptical when it moved toward it instead of perpendicular as I knew the direction the flow was going in my setup. Then I just put my hand near it, and a metal object and the same deflection was seen. Either way though, this is still super cool!!!

Beautiful video but my only concern here is that you should show it darkness how bright it get .

Very beuatful, please do with lithium.

Argon, xexon, sodium mercury bulb would give a good spectrum. Food for thought, a hv positive lead with a pulse modulation at the right frequency will illuminate but draw no current

That's pretty wild, I love it. Can you do other colors? Or is this strictly the only color? (I know nothing of chemistry, but I am curious about these types of projects and I saw this from NightHawk)

Amazing, I keep some LPS bulbs as they are disappearing fast. I was thinking, is possible to make an induction LPS light? Maybe worth an experiment.

Really cool video, keep doing what you love! ;)

Nice! I would love to see this done with potassium to see the gorgeous lilac color of potassium plasma but judging from one of your replies on this video your phone camera unfortunately doesn't do well with that.

Is there a way to keep the process to go continuously? You did a great job by the way on this video keep up the great work!

I've been wanting to do a project like this!! But I could never figure out how to connect the vacuum tube to the glass! Like, what type of tube you used to connect it, how you measured the vacuum level.. what vacuum you set the tube to ..

Really neat video, but did you have to use the sad music? :'(

Interesting to be able to see something from a long time ago in modern times. The color is very warm and definitely has a holiday charm to it. I hope your holidays went well! Happy new year to you and may you get to enjoy many more to come! 🎆🥳🎉🍾🎊🎄

I know this is annoying, but I'm actually the first comment! Though I'll admit that I'm not the first to watch this video, nor the first to subscribe!
(Advanced Tinkering, if you are reading my comment, I think you'll make it on YouTube. Watching this made me think "Why tf you you only have 283 subscribers?")

Can you magnetic induction be used to heat the sodium?
