Popcorn Polymer, also known as edible corn chain molecule, is a series of small kernels of corn exploded by heat, that are linked to form long chains of crosslinked, linear popcorn molecules. Popcorn Polymer behaves like a liquid under small strain and therefore shows visotic behavior. For high shear velocity popcorn polymers show a rise in elastic behavior and thus act as solid. This behavior is characteristic for snack materials (chewing gum glas, choc-ceramics) and is widely used in the food and beverage industry.
