In my anticipation to go and see the new movie, I’ve been doing a marathon of the six previous Star Wars films, and in the spur of the moment late on Christmas Day, I decided to try and put together a cover of this iconic theme from the original trilogy. For this one, I actually kinda worked backwards... I recorded piano by itself first synced up to a metronome after the free section in the beginning, and after the fact, I was driven to add other components of a rhythm section to it and turn it into a chill jazz trio rendition, which is definitely a contrast to the epic original track. That being said though, this method of working backwards off of an improv arrangement done after learning the song just a few short minutes prior led to me feeling sort of limited, as means to do the piano in one take and not screw it up.

I definitely feel that I could've taken the short source material and expanded on it more, and if I gave myself more time to learn it, maybe I could've... But I really wanted to experiment and push myself in a new way, and see what I can make if I was to give myself 24 hours to work, and I think the result was pretty alright!

Also, as was likely evident through the intro, I got a Canon Rebel T6i this Christmas! It looks a million times better than the Galaxy, and as soon as I get a tripod, it should hopefully make filming live video much less of a hassle; I won’t need to stack up a bunch of books anymore to get the angles that I want. XD

I really enjoyed this, just for reference, could you tell me how much your keyboard cost ? Also were all drums and bonus instruments etc from the keyboard ?
