How about the venturi effect? Like point the air gun parallel to the other end of the hose, but on the same direction as the openning of the hose

Welcome to a Vacuum started gravity pump. The positive pressure in the tank causes the fuel to exit out of the hose and the vacuum created by the fuel going down the hose creates enough of a vacuum to keep the fuel going through the hose. Thats why the moment the fuel level gets low enough and the hose is no longer in the fuel it stops.

Did something similar- oil dipstick handle broke off- put some compressed air into PCV valve hole in valve cover…dipstick rose up like a periscope!

Also works by blowing air past the drain end of the hose while the suction side is submerged as well

When I was a kid I wrapped a rag around the hose and pushed it around the filler neck so when you blow down the hose the air had to come back up through the hose and it brought the gas with it.

We tried that on a bus years ago. The airline psi split the diesel tank what a surprise it’s not a pressure vessel.

Well on the top buy list a cordless/corded shop vac.

Blow the air over the end of the hose, no need to put it in the tank.
The blown air will craete a vacuum and will begin flowing.

I just use a turkey baster. You don't have to drag the shop vac out. One end in the tank, turkey baster in the other end, pump it a couple of times, holding it low, stick it in the gas can.

Could also turn the key, the tank has a pressurization pump.

Pull hose from donor vehicle when done ! And make sure hose is pulled in filler of tank before adding air

I’ve also used another hose to blow into the tank while sealing off the opening to the tank for the cap with a rag and it worked well

Dont even need compressed air.
Stick a tube in, seal the outlet the best you can with one hand and just blow into the tube.
Dont suck, blow!

Our method with the the cars we use for junk car racing and anything we got to pull fuel out or pump in. We take a old fuel pump and wire it to a car battery we got laying around. No work and just pull the wires off and pack it up for next use. Not the safest way but if you know what your doing it’s a life saver in a pinch. but years later haven’t had any problems many truck and car fuel tanks I had to drop and used this method.
