I did the same to my husband on the occassion of wedding (2020), ours is love marriage, 15 years of love journey, after so much struggle, convinced family and got married.
Still the day is green in eyes, .... I stood outside, he opened the door, he became very emotional and tears rolled down, it was amazing...
