Five Nights at Freddy's is on the midst of its 7 year anniversary, the home stretch of 10 years. A very unique thing to this franchise that you don't really see in many others is the abundance of fan made games based off the core formula, arguably forming its own genre. But just exactly how did we get here? Well, that's what I plan on answering today, this is the history of Five Nights at Freddy's Fangames.

After my 6 year experience with this series this video seems like a tip of iceberg. As a fangame developer myself though, it was a great watch. Yet, in my opinion, Candy games are still the most polished out of all the games mentioned and unmentioned in the video 😺

Here's a correction for something they said: When they said "Popgoes Arcade 2" what they really meant and were referring to is "Popgoes Arcade 2020 Edition." The two games are completely different.

I recently rewatched 8-BitRyan's series on DSaF and it reminded me of what a great game series that was. Even though it's not a serious Fnaf fangame, it is the only Fnaf game that made me laugh, but also almost cry at the ending. It definitely should have been on the list in my opinion, or at least as an honorable mention. DSaF has to be my personal favourite Fnaf fangame, and it surely is the most memorable Fnaf fangame, because how can you forget a character like Aubergine Man.

How could you forget Jolly trilogy? I know it came out in 2016 inspired by Sister Location, but still, that's some good games right there. And Jollybee's are amaizing tbh.

personally, I think tjoc is better in some ways as the og franchise, I enjoyed playing it a whole lot more than the origional games. And in terms of difficulty, it's hard at first, but once you figure out the patterns, timings and how characters work etc It actually becomes relatively easy, albeit scary and stressful (I'm talking to you attic!)

My favorite FNaF fan game and fan game series is without a doubt in my mind is DSaF or day shift at Freddy's. It has great dialogue, best minigames, a story that actually made me cry at the end the last game. It may not be the scariest of the games but its lore and endings are probably the best of all fan games only nearly on par with fnac 3s ending

I dont know why everyone forget Day shift at freddy's.
Maybe its just my opinion but its my favourite fnaf fangame and not for the quality tho, but for the story.
