I’m so glad you pointed out the ‘Tom Ford’ and ‘Louis Vuitton’ (let’s not forget ‘Chanel’ and ‘Gucci’) books that tend to be the staple for many “luxury” and “chic” interior designs.. at least in a lot of the videos I’ve watched on YouTube..

Unfortunately, those designer books don’t come across as chic nor glamorous, it really screams stylelessness, inelegance, and pretentiousness - regardless of the home they’re (from multimillion dollar homes to apartments)..

When I see any one of those books, I think: “Did the designer have any meaningful impact in that person’s life?” Or, “What inspiration did the person get from the book?”

Replace to designer books with Architectural Design magazines instead..

My husband and I are just wrapping up on building a steel barnominium and what you said is the truth! Our contractor confirmed that steel and other imported building and interior finished items will increase in pricing over the next several months. I hustled like a mofo to find items on Facebook Market Place, rehab stores, and online sales to finish the interior part of the barno. Wonderful advice!

We are such a throwaway culture and therefore need cheaper things which aren’t made in the USA. People used to keep furniture, solid wood etc, for 10-15-20 years and now we want new furniture every couple years. Yes USA manufacturing is pricey and I love your tips of buying preowned . If we get out of the mindset of needing to change things so often, we won’t need to buy so often. Our own unnecessary spending will bite us in the butt once crazy man gets ramped up .

People truly don’t understand how this trickles down.
