Christina Aguilera‘s mother was originally Catholic but she converted to Mormonism and met her husband at BYU. He ended up being extremely violently abusive so she divorced him when Christina was seven years old. After the divorce, she went back to Catholicism and baptized Christina and her siblings in the Catholic Church so Christina hasn’t been Mormon since she was 7. Christina has talked about the violent physical abuse she suffered from her father as a young child, and she has been estranged from him for decades.

In the 70s the Osmonds were considered Mormon royalty. They had their own recording studio in Provo UT. Maria had 2 of her 8 kids come out as gay. a boy and girl. Her son ended up taking his own life. I seen some of her interviews. She has had a difficult life dispite a successful career.

I didn't know about Amy Adams, but I find it fascinating how in one of her very first roles, in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, she was a member of a very Mormon-like family (only appeared in one episode), and her younger sister (who was a main character at that time) left the family behind for obvious reasons.

As a former Mormon, this explains so much to me. 😂😂 I find that even though I left the church in my late teens, I'm still attracted to people (celebrities and not) that emit a familiar... presence. Not always a bad thing. It does show me how deep my condition was.
