Hi Derek. I recently discovered your Visual Basic Tutorials and upon visiting your channel I realize you do much more than just code. Amazing Stuff. You are very informative with your teaching methods. Thank you for everything that you have posted.

I learned a ton of info from your VB Tutorials and have come a very long way in making my own semi-complicated program in just a few short days thanks to you, however, I seem to be stuck trying to use a button to: get/copy user-input info from a textbox, then create a text file based on the textbox text and create a .bat file to desktop.
I have multiple options, textboxes and checkboxes that allow the txtOutputbox.text to be any number of things that the user inputs. It is all done with a button and shows up to the "txtOutput" box (which is readonly-true). I cant get a second button(with its own private subroutine) to create the files (one as .txt, one as .bat) and save them in specific locations in a folder and on the desktop respectively. Around 6:15 in VBT 5 you talk about doing this but I cant seem to grasp a way to relate it to my needs. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Derek, very good VB tutorials, thans for your hard work. I have many engeneering programs writed in the oldest version VB5, and it´s becaming quite difficult to run them in Windows or new computers. Is it possible to run them in VB VS 2017 ? Do I have to write all again ? Is there any program to convert them ?
