Regarding sharpening the blade on the wrong side. This is the AL-KO Classic 3.82 SE electric lawn mower. You can find photos of it online and look at the bottom of the mower to see that it is sharpened on the outside. Thank you.

In the time it took you to build this I sharpened all my blades, did maintenance on the mowers, cut the grass and had dinner.

You are sharpening the wrong side of the blade. The bottom of the blade should be flat. You sharpen the top side of the blade and maintain the same bevel. Clamp the blade on a vice and use a 4” grinder or a file and the blade can be sharpened in 1-2 minutes.

LMAO!!! Buddy, I am impressed. That is pretty cool. I could use that much time though and have built a carport instead. My 50 grit on a mini air grinder works just as good with blades on and I can actually sharpen the correct side of the blade in about 2 minutes. Thank you!
Very impressive engineering. I hope you received extra credit for that invention. Very cool.

I don't think there is a factory blade was ever sharpened on bottom. That's stupid. Those blades hadn't been sharpened for years.

I'm sure this works well, but it's complicated and requires welding equipment. I just spend a minute or two sharpening my mower blade on the grinder and it works fine.

Good job! I regularly mow 5 acres so I sharpen them regularly. I raise the mower with floor jack, zip the bolts off with an impact wrench, take the blades to my grinder and freehand the sharpening. I generally have the blades back on in 10 minutes.

Great method for sharpening knives, most people are looking for a simpler trick which is sharpening with a grinder I think this is a great method to keep the knife thick and sharp as possible

I have been using a $10 mower from marketplace for a few years, works ok for me, but I was curious about sharpening the blades. This was the first video that came up on google, I'm blown away by how much attention to detail you can give this! Thanks for the great video and thanks for showing how it can be done with such care and finesse! Seems like a lot of people think there's a faster way, I'd be curious to compare the results of quick angle grinder in the vice vs your fine sharpening!

The main problem you are going to have. Is you haven't balanced the blade. So your motor will wear out twice as fast.

When one side needs more grinding than the other, be sure to balance the blade from the center pivot point. Sometimes it matters if one side is chipped badly but not the other (like this one)

I use an eight-inch bench grinder and been done long before the end of this video. I sharpened hundreds of lawn mower blades at my dad's mower repair shop. What about the balancing part?
