I am brutally Honest, a little to Brutal at times. Damian was one of our best players early in his career at the Bunnies. I rated him very highly up to a few years ago, around 2021. His damaging runs and natural ability to attack the defense was outstanding, like no other I have witnessed but that went down hill and fast. His defensive effort were always there, high tackle counts in nearly every game but I wanted him to maintain the brutality in attack he was renown for.
Unfortunately they were far and few between over the last 3-4 seasons. Plenty will disagree with me but I strategically watched him play for a few years now, counting his runs from dummy half, meters gained, line breaks and defensive efforts (the latter was always outstanding for such a man of his structure)
I feel for him being cut loose by the team but that's footy, I think Cody Walker should thank his lucky stars that Damian went before him as his efforts for a few years now have been far worse.
I'm glad he thinks South's is his home and that he one day, want's to return to the Club that he gave so much and the Club that gave Damian so much in return.
