iPhone 15 Pro - Worth Upgrading For '7' Cameras?

I've been using a iPhone 13 Mini for the past 2 years, and its time to say goodbye and welcome the new iPhone 15 Pro!

Stop saying "lenses", you know very well that the phone only has 3.

1:39 The phone doesnt have a variable zoom lens. The 28 and 35mm "lenses" are just sensor crops. This is slightly higher quality than digital zoom but still not utilising the full sensor e.g. at 28mm the edges of the sensor are cropped off so that only the inner ~35MP are used and processed to output the final 24MP photo and then at 35mm its the same but with an even greater crop off the sides of the sensor. It's smart tech, definitely better quality than digital zoom but it is definitely not actual additional lenses and not as good quality as optical zoom.

Despite the better cameras on the pro, I can appreciate you using the 13 Mini for a couple years. I've always wanted to use a mini because I love the phone's size, but I could never give up the pro cameras. I love my 15 Pro so far. The smaller size and lighter build make it the closest thing to a 'mini pro' iPhone we've ever got.

i have 13 pro, i would only upgrade if they give bigger battery and 5x zoom on smaller pro

I have a 13 mini and love the size. I would like to upgrade, but I think the 15 pro or max is too big and heavy. The size and weight of the normal 15pro is maybe just about acceptable thanks to the use of titanium. I ask whether the better 5x zoom justifies the more uncomfortable handling. whether you really use the 5x magnification that often. For portraits, 3 times seems perfect. What do think? I ask you because you also felt in Iove with mini?

Love all the 13 mini love in the comments. My wife hates larger phones and I’ve been telling her she will have to deal with no home button and grab a 13M next when she upgrades from the SE 2020 (she had the first SE before that, and a 4s prior so always smaller phones and home buttons). Really hope that apple releases another phone of that size or moves the SE line into a mini body

I think the 3x in 15pro is better than 5x in 15pro max especially for portrait shots

By now phones should be able to pop out holograms and even walk by themselves.
There’s Samsung that can see craters in the moon and apple still can’t get a decent shot of a cat stuck in a tree 🤦🏼‍♂️.

You showed off JPEGs instead of HEIF when talking about the "new HEIF". And HEIF isnt even being introduced to iPhone 15 as you said lol. And yeah iPhone Pro still gets the 7 lens treatment from my understanding? And the biggest update to iPhone's camera is the new 48mp compressed formats. It's my favorite new camera feature. And its like the only thing you didn't even talk about lol

Hey man, I was in your shoes! I went from a 13 mini to a 15 regular tho. I’m still on the fence if I messed up or not about going for the pro instead 😅 I’m just happy to have 2x zoom, at least lol. I also came from the 13 Mini. It’s unfortunate that the 15 Pro continues the trend of bad battery life. Had to return it and got the regular 15 instead. Much better battery life. After two years of worrying about the 13 mini battery I don’t want to deal with that again.

But battery life still bad :D its same like 13 pro. Slow charging too.. I guess apple thought that $1000 is very little money for a phone, so they don't give a real flagship.

.5x, 1x, 1.2x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, macro, both the pro and pro max have the 7 “lenses” apple was touting, it’s just the pro has a more useful range than the max.
