Just a heads up. The shovel cave has probably 50 or more enemy's in it. It's insane. Don't fight, run. Run your ass off. You will not make it fighting.

FYI Everyone, between the water cave and waterfall cutscene you can find diving fins and a wetsuit.

Great vid, came to this for finding the way out after picking up the shovel which is a bit of a nightmare having to track back all the way again.
Tip for everyone else - caves and difficult areas, if you do want to explore, fight & loot, make a tarp. This enables you to regularly rest and save and you can always take the tarp with you once you have cleared the path ahead, hope this helps :)

If you don't have any timebombs or grenades to kill the blob to get out - use molotovs, arrows, and melee. It took me around 8 molo's, 20-30 arrows and a little melee.

so, this just happened to me as soon as i grabbed the shovel. i had a load of enemies behind me which managed to knock me down and when i came back too, i was put in a sack near the entrance, so easy escape for those who havent been knocked down yet since they loaded in :) also would recommend putting a tent outside of the cave and save :)

I explored this cave when I first landed due to spawning on the shore and completely missed the rebreather. I explored every possible cave trying to find it and had wrongly assumed that first cave didn't have anything in it for me yet. Thank you for this video.
