The comparison he makes with the tulip mania is quite accurate. Bitcoin is very emotional driven and there a lot of fomo. Really interesting to see how it will develop and if it will end up like the ‘digital gold’.

Gold has intrinsic value. Bitcoin is an idea. I am not interested in bitcoin because it is worthless.
Gold I can turn into attractive jewelleries, sell to meet needs, use as collateral to borrow money, etc.
Bitcoin in and of itself cannot do the above. Just an idea. No intrinsic value.

Only shows that warrens weakness is indeed anything tech related like he himself often says. Comparing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with the tulip bubble is more than unfitting. Unlike tulips many cryptocurrencies solve real life issues. It will be the future if he likes it or not. The doge coin would fit his comparison way better.

People say he doesn’t like technology, but owns large portion of apple. Bit coin has value till someone is ready to pay for it.. it being used as a currency doesn’t sound practical, how could something that fluctuates so much be considered a mode of transaction? It may turn out to be a store of value, but that value will remain till people believe it to be.. but once the fluctuation stops and people realise they cannot make 20% in a month, i don’t think people will keep their money in bitcoin.. it just has to keep increasing to make people stay.. lets see what happens when the value becomes stable.. lets see how many people can see bit coin at the same level ( or atleast matching inflation) for a year or two..

He also doesn't see the merit in owning gold or other stores of value, do why would he believe in Bitcoin? What he's actually doing is ensuring that the fiat money system, from which he turns a profit, stays in vogue longer.
