The Shepherd's Heart...

In Matthew 18:13, Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep to illustrate the great love and care that God has for every single person, even those who are lost or have wandered away from Him. The parable shows that when one sheep goes astray, the shepherd leaves the 99 sheep and goes to search for the lost one until he finds it.

The reason why the shepherd rejoices more over the one lost sheep than the 99 who did not wander off is that the lost sheep represents a soul that was in danger of being lost forever. The shepherd's great joy upon finding the lost sheep illustrates the joy that God experiences when one sinner repents and turns back to Him.

This parable shows that God's love is not limited to those who are already part of His flock but extends to those who have strayed away. Jesus wants every person to experience the love, grace, and salvation that He offers, and He is willing to go to great lengths to bring the lost back to Him.

My prayer is if anyone has strayed away from The Lord Jesus Christ that they would run back to Him who is waiting with open arms to receive you again regardless of the sin or reason.
