The Killer in the Backseat

In the 1970s, an urban legend spread like wildfire, but it’s based on a chilling real-life case. A woman was driving home late at night when she noticed a car tailgating her, flashing its lights repeatedly. She sped up, but the car stayed close, blinking its high beams over and over.

Terrified, she rushed home, parked, and ran inside. The driver of the other car followed her and yelled, "There’s a man in your backseat!" Each time he flashed his lights, he saw the silhouette of a man rising to attack her, only to duck back down.

This story echoes a real case in 1964, where a hitchhiker hid in the backseat of a woman’s car, waiting to strike. Luckily, she escaped, but many weren’t so fortunate.
