Uşak

Uşak (Türkçe telaffuzu: [ˈuʃak]), Türkiye'nin Ege Bölgesi'nin iç kesiminde bir şehirdir. Uşak İli ve Uşak İlçesinin merkezidir. Nüfusu 236.366 (2022)'dir.
Uşak şehri, bölgenin başlıca metropol merkezi ve liman kenti olan İzmir'e 210 km (130 mil) uzaklıkta yer almaktadır. İç Anadolu platosu ile kıyı Ege Bölgesi'nin kesişme noktasındaki konumu ve bu iki bölgenin unsurlarını içeren iklimi ve tarımsal üretimi nedeniyle Uşak, geleneksel olarak güçlü bir sanayi temeline de sahiptir. Uşak, Türkiye'de kentsel elektrik şebekesine sahip ilk şehir olup, Osmanlı döneminde deri sektörü çalışanları ile işçiler arasında toplu iş ilişkileri sözleşmesinin imzalandığı ilk şehirdir. Cumhuriyet Türkiyesi'nin ilk fabrikası olan şeker rafinerisi, yerel iş adamlarının özel sektör girişimiyle burada kuruldu. Çalışkanlık geleneği bugün iki sanayi bölgesi çevresinde devam ediyor.
Uşak (Turkish pronunciation: [ˈuʃak]) is a city in the inland Aegean Region of Turkey. It is the center of Uşak Province and Uşak District. Its population is 236,366 (2022).
The city of Uşak is located 210 km (130 mi) from Izmir, the region's major metropolitan center and port city. Due to its location at the intersection of the Central Anatolian plateau and the coastal Aegean Region, and its climate and agricultural production that includes elements of these two regions, Uşak has traditionally had a strong industrial base. Uşak is the first city in Turkey with an urban electricity network and the first city where a collective labor relations agreement was signed between leather industry employees and workers during the Ottoman period. The sugar refinery, the first factory of Republican Turkey, was established here with the private sector initiative of local businessmen. The tradition of diligence continues today around the two industrial areas.
