Eating at Peter Luger. The Most Famous Steakhouse in NYC

I have an incredible steak and lunch at the Michelin starred Peter Luger Steak House in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In addition to my steak, I enjoy a wonderful side and dessert. I explain why Peter Luger is one of the most famous restaurants and best steak houses in the city and what makes it so special.

I ate at Peter Luger’s on May 31st of 2019. I’ll tell ya, their steaks and food there are so good that I think about it all every single day! Never has a meal stayed with me for so long and will never disappear from my mind. I truly can’t wait to go back there again and have another truly unforgettable meal.

my parents were steak eaters and P. Luger was a favorite. We were traverling back home to Long Island and I was very sick (this is almost 45 years ago). Dad had to pull over several times to let me puke. We pulled up to Lugers and I was laying in back of car. My parents said, sit tight, we'll be back after we eat (with my 2 siblings). No more then 10 min later i walked up to the table and Dad said, I guess your feeling better. I told him i feel so good i'm have the steak for two. My parents just smiled and said we knew there was no way you were missing this meal. It's a classic steak house, old school. It's hard to top what they do. It's the Katz deli of steak houses.

I remember my visit there in 2016. One of the best steaks I've ever had! Hoping to go back someday!

Recollection of my best steakhouse experience (food, service, ambiance, etc.) goes back a couple decades. I was dining alone at a Morton's (can't recall location.) The service was likely the best restaurant service I've ever had; not rushed but incredibly attentive, gracious, cordial... Food was excellent, ambiance - soft lighting, dark woods, white linens, heavy/brushed cutlery, cold drinks. It was great!

When I went many years ago they had a sliced tomato onion salad, and a thick cut bacon “appetizer.” Steak was the same, with a side of creamed spinach. No room for dessert! I recall the sauce being something like Catalina salad dressing with horseradish in it. Cheers

Now THEIR burger I've had dozens of times! It was an every Friday for lunch thing, and is still my go-to for a fat burger (everyone is doing these smashburgers now) I agree about not being able to give 1 best steakhouse in NYC, but they're up there.... Def in my top 10! I hope you got to go back for the porterhouse, that's their iconic dish! And the creamed spinach is excellent as well😉🍔🥩

Was there last night. Place was packed, still seating people at 10pm. Just a delicious meal from the bacon, tomato/onion, shrimp....then the steak, potatoes and spinach. Even the rolls and holy cow sundae were awesome. The smell when you walk in gets your juices going

James deserves more subscribers, and he’s got a sub out of me. Great personality and his reactions always come off as genuine, not forced or plastic like others I’ve seen. Good video, Peter Luger is awesome, a bit pricey but a nice place to treat yourself or loved ones. Their bacon is the best I’ve ever had

What a great meal. 😊 My order would be the caesar salad, enjoy the bread along, and that fantastic single steak mr with a glass or two of a heavy red. 😋 👍🌻

When I lived in NY we went there all the time. My hubby's fav place. equally good is Wolfgang in the city, he worked at Luger's for years and opened. Try it if you havenyt.

Great review. Genuine and natural. Unlike that wierd Mark Wiens with the eyes rolling and head movements. Dude is hard to watch.
