In regards to funds, do you think it is worth spending time learning about how to choose funds to invest in or is it better to just stick to ones like this?

My strategy would probably be 85% of investments in funds due to knowledge mainly. Whilst I mostly will be investing in funds - for my own hobby to take time out of work etc - I've been reading your books (eventually signing to do the course once I've exhausted the book) and learning the skills from there - I keep 15% so that if any stocks do come from the skills I learn from here.

G’day Michael, great channel. I have £35k available to invest. I have never invested before. Should I put £20k straight into the ISA you mention, or drip feed it in? Will any gains that are accumulated then push me over the £20k pa limit? What can I do with the rest? It needs to be accessible, for emergency use, but I don’t plan on touching it otherwise. Cheers.

Hi, would there be any drawbacks to opening the Stocks and shares ISA with IG, as oposed to Vanguard? Already have a spread bet account with IG and probably would be easier/quicker to just transfer the funds from it to an ISA with them. Thanks in advance!
