Most company can’t even have managers recognizing the work of their employees! It doesn’t cost anything to say thank you and to celebrate good accomplishment! I recently worked for a project for almost 6 months where we delivered before the expectation and the company was not even able to at least organize a lunch to say thank you ! The project ended with not even a thank you ! The whole team was shocked to see how ungrateful they were ! As a team lead I make sure to always make sure to recognize my employees work but when I see how most companies operate I think it’s really a manager issue in companies ! It doesn’t cost much to say at the meeting great job guys on delivering x project.

*Let's be honest* In certain circumstances, I infer, that managers don't recognize employees because they don't want the employee to realize *just how good* they are at their job. Maybe the employee is doing the job better than the "Mgr", and the Mgr feels insecure. Maybe the Mgr feels that the person has more talent than them, and so minimizing or just glazing over people's efforts, helps to keep the employees unaware, of just how good they are performing, that hey, we have you working here at a steal of a deal / unfair pay. please do not recognize that! ..
