Please support my channel by purchasing the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN lens from the following links:

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN lens is made for the Sony E-mount and the Panasonic/Leica/Sigma L-mount. Its one of the first lenses to be released from Sigma that is made for mirrorless cameras from the ground up along with the 45mm F2.8 and the 14-24mm F2.8 lenses. Not only that, the 35mm F1.2 is also the first autofocus lens that has an F1.2 aperture without the need for an adapter. This lens would be great for anything but not limited to low light photography as well as street, portraits and scenic shots.

The difference between f/1.4 and f/1.2 autofocus lenses in size, weight and above all price is enormous. Also the benefits from more light and shallower depth of field isn't very significant.
However optically and technologically f/1.2 autofocus lenses are very demanding.
It is easy for lens manufacturers to create a cheap, small and light manual f/1.2 lenses with very soft corners at f/1.2, serious chromatic aberration and strong vignetting at f/1.2.
What is difficult is to create an affordable f/1.2 lens with reliable, fast autofocus and great optical quality at f/1.2.
Sigma didn't accidentally has chosen the 35mm for its first autofocus f/1.2 lens. Canon has 50mm and 85mm f/1.2 autofocus lenses and both can be used on e-mount and L mount mirrorless cameras with autofocus adapters.
So Sigma extended the variety of f/1.2 full frame autofocus lenses to the wider 35mm. Of course the depth of field of full frame 35mm lenses is not so shallow even with f/1.2.
Nevertheless all photographers appreciate larger apertures and larger sensors as long they are reasonably priced. And the price of Sigma 35mm f/1.2 is really good for what it offers.

Hey John, I currently own the Sony 50mm 1.4 Planar lens and the Sony 85mm 1.8. I shoot portraits primarily so my question is would you recommend that I replace my 50mm Planar with this 35mm 1.2?
