Hey you got a k at least. Just a tip here. In strong wind you can lose the drone on RC fail. Tip. When you get the first radio interference message or RC lost. Switch to S mode and reverse up until the signal comes back and you can take it from there. Have a good one.

Australia has FCC version of the mini, first time for wifi drone with FCC in Oz I believe, 5.8.
Might not have full US range, it appears it may be limited at hardware level ?
But a lot better than CE.

NS checked out your channel uploads, the SJRC F-11 doesn't look terribly stable for a GPS drone.
You are probably loving the Mini, it'll blow that away :)

Enjoy the new machine, DJI drones are pretty much the best, most stable, cinematic consumer drones, they've done a good job with the various models.

I hope this is informative to Australian users of the DJI Mavic Mini. It is a downgraded FCC drone in OZ and it's identifiable by the C-tick logo which is a triangle with a circle inside encompassing a tick mark. Apparently they have limited the number of 5.8 ghz channels and that allows the 'better' channels as identified by the 'Auzzie radio boffins' to be kept free for higher powered commercial devices and the drone can become easily swamped by those channels and that's it. I live near a cell tower so that probably explains a lot about lack of range over 500M. It should be better in the bush.

I hope your drone is CE and your wifi setting was 2.4GHz.

Good video, I think for a residential range test, you will need to go a little higher to avoid the Wi-Fi field below from the houses.

Was the RTH automatic or did you have to tell the drone to RTH ?

Or signal interference occurred residential area?
But even though it should go at least 2km max

flying over houses, cars, people roads, and bvlos, all completely illegal under CASR 101.175, even for the mini. (>100gr) this is why drone pilots get a bad rap. do it somewhere safe.
