Показать описание
Welcome to Ross-on-Wye Steam engine society 57th annual Welland steam & country Rally held on the 28th,29th,30th of July 2023.
The "Mini Dorset" as it often referred to is a great family day out with plenty of majestic iron giants at work in the show-fields of Malvern, from the Giant Traction engines thru to the miniature steam there's an awful lot crammed it to this modest rally sight. With the vintage plant machines digging, tipping, bulldozing, levelling grading the land out in the living history field along with a pair of Fowler ploughing engines & the odd Tractor dragging & ploughing along sides them. Also the Military re-enactors have grown again since last year with this year show casing more than just dugout trenches. The Steam working area again home to there very own steam crane moving the various lumber around with aid of a Railway track Marshall as-well, it also featured the usual rack saw bench, cross cut saw in action along side recycling Heston square bales for the purpose of demonstrating the old harvest tradition of Thrashing all powered by glorious steam. The main stage however at an event like this is always the Playpen or heavy haulage section seeing various machines lugging up various heavy loads up the hill side so we the pay public can really see what grunt thees old titans really have. With all the other spectacular Vintage Tractors, cars & motorcycles to look round. Another of the favourite areas is the Vintage funfair which is mostly generated by Steam Showman's engines which really come to life when it gets dark showing off there fairy lights
