Chinese Def. Min.: China wants peaceful reunification, but ready to fight if anyone separates Taiwan

Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe delivered a speech at the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on June 12.

In the speech, Wei asserted that China will definitely realize its reunification with Taiwan and is willing to make the greatest efforts to achieve the goal peacefully. However, he stressed that, If anyone tries to secede Taiwan from China, China will fight and will fight to the very end.

He reiterated China's commitment to pursuing peaceful development and a defense policy that is defensive in nature. China's development is not a threat to others. On the contrary, it is a huge contribution to global peace and development, the minister said.

On China-US relations, Wei pointed out that its would be a historic strategic mistake on the part of the US to insist on treating China as threat, rival or even enemy. He insisted that while China hopes to develop a healthy and stable relationship with the US, and Chinese military hopes to improve strategic trust and avoid conflict with the US counterpart, China will also steadfastly defend its national interest and dignity.

As for the situation in the South China Sea, the minister said that it has been improving and becoming more and more stable thanks to the dialogues and cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. He noted that there has never been a problem with 'freedom of navigation' in the region and that China is in fact the biggest beneficiary of 'freedom of navigation'; but the concept has been long abused by certain powers, using it as a pretext to send military ships and planes to South China Sea to stir up trouble. Wei called on countries to work together to prevent other countries from intervening and wreck havoc in the region.

USA is taking advantage of this new party, by providing arms and sending individuals to visit Taiwan. Hence, USA was behind all this. Not surprise if CIA and NED personnel in Taiwan. 1.. Taiwan is a province of China.
2.  The civil war in China is never declared over, the defeated party just escaped and retreated to Taiwan, so the war is kept in abeyance.
3. In the eyes of the Chinese, and as the Chinese saying goes,   the Vanquished is the bandit...while the winner is the Ruler ( as there is no emperor now, PuYi was the last)
4. So the leadership in Taipei is by bandits or coming from war criminals ( to use the present terminology)
5. If US is supporting Taiwan then it is supporting a bandit government or a government coming from war criminals. THIS FACT the whole world must learn to understand and to remember and MUST NOT ALLOW US or its allies to paint a nice picture of the bandit government there ...in Taipei. Hence China has every right to attack Taiwan unless Taipei is agreed to talk peace and maybe to surrender DEFENCE, FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL SECURITY  back to the central government and to seek for other conditions to manage Taiwan. If JF Kennedy had the moral grounds even without legal rights to force Cuba to remove all military equipments from Russia from Cuba. China has far more legal and moral grounds to prevent US military arms to go into its province under a bandit government. Let us also remember BUSH sent its troops to remove a legal government...what more for US to say that China cannot do to remove an illegal defeated government in Taiwan....if peace is not secured with the present leadership. Let us not see the Chinese fight the Chinese, to weaken the race, the nation and the chinese  civilisation. We hope the people in Taiwan will realise this ...and not let the sufferings and miseries of Ukraine come to Taiwan.
