JD Vance says wife is legal immigrant; border policy should be 'go to war' with Mexican cartels

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance held a campaign event in Valdosta, Georgia, on Thursday, Aug. 22. When asked about his and Donald Trump's views on immigration and border policies, Vance emphasized that his wife's parents immigrated legally.

"I'm also grateful that they came here in the right way," Vance said of his in-laws. "You can't reward people for breaking the law."

Vance's comments came the same day that Trump visited the area near the U.S.-Mexican border in Arizona.
