One of the most interesting facts about the River is that it's not formed from just one source but by the convergence of two amazingly long rivers. These are the Kara Su, also known as the Western Euphrates, and the Murat Su, also known as the Eastern Euphrates. This convergence takes place in the southeastern part of Turkey, about 10 kilometers away from the small town of Keban.

The Euphrates River was also considered the longest in Western Asia. This amazing Euphrates River has quite a few tributaries. Simply put, this means that most of the River's inflow doesn't flow from streams, but its source is rainfall and melting snow from the mountains. This has led to an irregular rising and falling of the River's water level, with the maximal recorded months being April and May, as most of the snow melts during this time.
