The problem of your advice is that it near the tv HDMI because connect to the tv. Mine works really well because I got mine on Amazon.

thanks so much i almost exploded someone broke into my house and smashed my newest flatscreen so i had to resort to the other one which had a hopper box on it and this helped alot praise thiz man

I have a ps4 and it's connected to the hdmi along with the cable box to my tv ... Will the x1 work if I plug it into the cable box solely without connection to the tv because I have no other hdmi ports if not is there another alternative

Can you tell me whats the point in connecting it to the set top box if you can just connect it directly to the tv without it?

I see that the HDMI cords are used to make the connection, but no reference to the coaxial cable is made in regards to the connection of the cable box itself. So does that mean you do not need the coaxial cable?

What if the ONLY hd connection on back of the tv is component cable connections? My television is an older Mitsubishi 60" hd1080i. It doesn't have the newer hdmi port. I tried an hdmi to component cable converter from the one to the tv but it did not work. Please tell me I don't have to buy a new tv to get all the xbox one features.
