Today, we're breaking down the controversial events of the recent Olympic opening ceremonies in France. The weekend's spectacle included French drag queens in the traditional torch relay and an overt drag queen fashion show that many are calling a blatant mockery of Christianity. But that's not all! Snoop Dogg added to the controversy by carrying the Olympic torch while sporting a Baphomet necklace. We'll also delve into the cringy “White Women For Harris” Zoom call where 164,000 white women united in support of Kamala Harris. Social media influencer Arielle Fodor, known as “Mrs. Frazzled,” took the stage, promising to "gentle parent us through this election."

I live in France not in Paris thank God.... I am protestant. My church is evangelical and protestant. We have 200 members. I pray for America a lot. Please pray for France.. Though we are a small number of Protestants still we do love the Lord and pray for our nation to go back to God. Blessings Allie to you and your team.

Every one of the Christian athletes should have walked out during the opening ceremony. Just to take a stand on the mockery. I remember 3 Hebrew boys wouldn’t bow, but there was a 4th man in the fire. The Bible continues, they came out and didn’t even smell like smoke.

I remember when Barcelona, Spain hosted the Olympics, and their ceremony was incredibly beautiful and historical. France lost the opportunity.

This is mostly a copy and paste clarification of the Opening Ceremony Last Supper Scene. It all makes sense now:
The name of this sequence was ‘La Cène sur la scène sur la Seine’ - which for those who don't speak French, translates as 'The Last Supper on the stage on the River Seine'. The pun being that Cène, Scene and Seine all sound the same in French. So we know it's not Bacchanalia, otherwise it would have been called "Bacchanalia on the River Seine". Instead, we know this is a portrayal of the last supper, because the title of the segment tells us so.
Also, the artistic director behind the scene, Thomas Jolly, said in the daily press conference following the opening ceremony, when asked specifically whether he had any views on why Christians might be offended by that segment, that he wanted to convey that in France "we have a right to not be worshippers". He did not say "you're mistaken, because it wasn't the last supper", rather, he explained why it was chosen and what it was trying to portray.
Yes, the man in blue was Dionysus/Bacchus, but the point of the scene was to insert Dionysus into the last supper. Why? Dionysus was the god of wine. The last supper is the moment where Christ (who in Christian theology is God) gives wine and bread to his disciples, asking them to continue this practice in memory of him, as it represents the sacrifice he would make on the cross the next day. In ‘La Cène sur la scène sur la Seine', what they did was swap out Jesus (as the Christian God who gives out wine as a symbol of sacrifice for salvation) with Dionysus (as the pagan God who gives out wine as a symbol of hedonistic pleasure).
It wasn't enough that they just depict Dionysus. They COULD have just depicted Dionysus in Bacchanalia and nobody would have cared. But the whole point of ‘La Cène sur la scène sur la Seine' was to depict a Pagan God in the place of the Christian God, in one of the most sombre and sacred moments of the Bible.
Final note, in the last few days, Olympics Opening Ceremonies producers have released a statement which confirms that (and this is a direct quote from said statement): "Thomas Jolly took inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting to create the setting".
Given that the producers admit that it was the last super, the artistic director agrees that he was trying to turn it into a pagan festival as a demonstration of the right to not worship, and the title of the scene is literally "the last supper on the stage of the Seine", I think we can put to rest this argument floating around on social media that the entire thing was Bacchanalia. It wasn't. It was Dionysus portrayed in the place of Jesus in the last supper, and now that the Olympics have apologised for that, maybe we can stop pretending that Christians are imagining things or taking offence unjustly.

Including one young child amongst the adults in the performance was beyond sad and obscene.

That is untrue about France being completely spiritually dead - I'm an Irish born again Christian, was living in France for two and a half years - yes, schools etc secular, huge secular expat community. Yes, in school at 3! Nuts. I'm a teacher. BUT....churches being planted all over the place, revival breaking out, ESPECIALLY in Paris.

I remember as Jesus on the cross was surrounded by mockers and scorners, He said, "Forgive them Father. They don't know what they are doing." God is not mocked. He will take care of them in His time. Until then, let's pray for mercy, the same mercy that was shown to us. God showed His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

The Olympic bylaws prohibit statements in the ceremonies about religions, politics, and other things. France should face a financial penalty.

Don't forget there was a golden calf on the stage in front of the Eiffel Tower as well.

Fact is this, there was no reason whatsoever they had to do the ceremony like that. They could have done a thousand other things, with normal people doing normal things... This was a done on purpose for a reason to push an agenda.

There is a Christian Brazilian surfer who had the iconic portrayal of Jesus in his surf board and was notified 2 weeks before the Olympics that he had to remove it from his surf board in order to compete.

Standards for public decency are not a bad thing to require. We used to have some standards...like no swearing on television during the family hour, no sex scenes until after 8 p.m., etc. When Christians don't decry debauchery, be it threesomes in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, the obvious grooming of a child in the same, or drag queens parading around honoring a god of indulgence (or mocking God), the envelope will only continue to be pushed even further, especially when cloaked under the guise of "art.". There is a time for public outrage, and I'm thankful to have witnessed some over the past few days. I was beginning to think that most Christians were asleep at the wheel. It's good to know that throngs of people around the globe (and not just Christians) found the opening ceremonies in France to be distasteful and offensive. I'm grateful my grandkids weren't watching with us that night. We turned the TV off after the menage-a-trois even though there were only us 2 adults in the room. It's sad that the Olympic athletes were not the focus because someone decided that raunch should take center stage instead.

I was on vacation at Myrtle Beach several years back- before Covid. I was having a conversation with a black woman I had just met. We were chatting about our faith and ministry we were involved in. I referred to the “gals” in my Bible study and she quickly corrected me telling me that was offensive and racist. I’d never heard of such a thing. It was the beginning of my education of what was coming.
It’s amazing where we are today. I’m so thankful for the Word of God and how it has truly prepared me.
