I love this dessert. I found out about this by accident one day when I ran out of cream for my coffee. I remembered that Breyers vanilla ice cream ingredients were cream, sugar, milk & vanilla beans it only made sense to me to use it for a cream replacement. Turned out to be super delicious and been my favorite dessert for the last 10 years.

Best affogato I ever had was at an Asian fusion restaurant. Plan vanilla ice cream with a really interesting Thai tea espresso. It was an absolutely delicious coffee but with the flavors of Thai tea. There was some leftover coffee when I finished the ice cream so I drank it alone and I fell in love.

The keypoint with this dessert is that the ice cream must be colder so it doesn’t melt instantly. I mean, you all realized that some ice creams are much colder, even hard to bite. There must be enough time to enjoy the treat.

bro i make my morning coffee like this, 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a glass, 2 espressos, a bit of caramel sauce on top, a touch of cinnamon and a touch of cocoa, and then fill the glass to the top with milk and add a small dash of baileys, done

We have this at the coffee shop I work at. I don't know why I always get stuck scooping the me for hating making them but something is just annoying about pulling ice cream out in a business that has nothing to do with ice cream.

Affogato means on top, not mixed with ice cream. I can have affogato ice and that's just ice with espresso on top.

I worked in an icecream store when I was in highschool.
Had a customer ask for an Affogato, I'm like 'what's that?'
He said it was a scoop of icecream with a shot of coffee on it.
I asked what flavour icecream he wants- he's like '😳 I can have any flavour??'
Me: 'Yeah, sure, whatever, I don't care' 🤷‍♀️
So he picked Rainbow and Rum'n'Raisin.. wonder how that tasted 😂

I've been experimenting with affogatos for a couple of months and here are some suggestions that can elevate the experience:



Make sure the ice cream ball is as compacted as possible.



Drop the coffee on a freezed steel ball before it hitting the icecream, this will lock the flavors and won't melt the ice-cream ball as much.
