That just shows the respect and capabilities of both styles of fighting. More tools doesn't always guarantee victory, but it definitely provides an advantage in alot of circumstances. On the other hand a boxer may only have hands but all it takes is one punch and also depends on the level of boxer. Boxing is not only punching, it's rythm, footwork, evasiveness, angles, timing, and positioning.

I would say wrestling is the top tier for MMA due to the rule advantage of not being able to knee or kick a downed opponent as well as 12-6 elbows being illegal. Otherwise Muay Thai #1 for MMA if those rules didn’t exist
