How to max Strength stat FAST in Final Fantasy 7 using W-Item glitch for easy Power Sources!

Many Final Fantasy 7 players already know that the W-Item materia (aquired on disk 2), is glitched. This means usable items in battle (such as megalixirs) can easily be duplicated to the cap of 99 without any real effort required.

Not everbody knows that there are more advanced forms of this technique that allow the player to duplicate many non-battle usable items too! Today, I show you how combining the Morph materia with W-Item and a few Chocobo greens can allow us to copy the awesome Source items from enemies (up to 99 per battle). In this episode we will be focusing on Power Sources.

I recommened you have Yuffie with the Conformer weapon (since it does not do reduced damage when Morphing).

Hey fuzz! Allen from Indiana here, love your tips. You're a "go to" for me. Just wanted to give you a heads up on this one in particular. When going after the power source, you only need 2 items with 1 item each. If you make the 1st single item you use a bird wing and use the other single item to activate the glitch, you'll have a new space for another bird wing you can retrieve from a Zu bird (which is also in the same area) by morphing it and getting your single bird wing back and then do your item glitch all over again. You'd never have to leave the area..

You can maintain unlimited burn items by morphing sonic speed into speed drinks in the same area. Keeps you from running back out for more greens

Hey brand new subscriber here. I wish I had info like this in 98 when i first beat the game but I got my son the ps2 cause he's only 5 and I played ff7 over again. Original game with books and everything! I paid 30 bucks for it but I have defeated all the weapons, did all the side quest and now Im trying to do these w-item tricks before beating sephiroth! If you have enough high level materia, barret can outdamage yuffie pretty easily whilst morphing with his missing score. Damage modifiers affect morph. You can take advantage of this as early as disc 1 and tifa's powersoul. I equip a bunch of HP plus on her and put her in critical HP. You can cast death sentence on her and pretty much one shot heavy tanks by gongaga reactor with morph.

Here are some detailed instructions for those who might have trouble getting this to work (like I did 😂):

1. Have ZERO units of the source you want to farm. It won't work if you have 1 or more.
2. Have 1 unit of any consumable item at the top of your item list (it has to be consumable during mid fight). You can have empty spaces bellow it; doesn't matter.
3. In mid fight, morph an enemy into a source.
4. Before the enemy has been morphed into a source, use w-item with another character and use the consumable item but don't trigger the second item yet.
5. Wait for the source to appear at the top of your inventory. If it doesn't, that's because you already had that source in your inventory.
6. Once the source pops up, select another consumable and cancel. You will see that the source increases by 1 each time.
7. Repeat point 6 till you reach 99 sources.

Btw, I suggest you use the wait ATB mode to make things easier.

The only places where you can apply this method are:
- M. Nibel: Screamer gives Power Sources.
- Mideel Area: Spiral gives Guard Sources.
- Sunken Gelnika: Poodler morphs into Speed Sources and Bad Rap into Luck Sources. If you see them together, you can get 99 sources of both types in a single battle.

There is a second method, a tiny bit more complicated, to farm Magic sources from morphing 8 eye at Battle Square (Gold Saucer).
- You need Yuffi with this setup: Conformer weapon, counter support materia linked to morph, w-item command materia and any spell or enemy skill to sleep an opponent.
- Enrole on a regular battle with Yuffi.
- Be lucky enough to encounter the 8-eye monsters (you have like a 20% chance of seeing it after the second fight).
- Use any sleep spell (like the enemy skill "Frog Song").
- As soon as you can cast w-item (right after the other 8-eye is making his move), do step 4 from the previous explanation.
- Wait for the 8-eye that just attacked you to morph into a Magic Source.
- Now do step 6 and 7.

To farm Mind Sources you have to do a much trickier strategy against the Serpent in Sunken Gelnika. Search for videos on youtube on how to execute it. The one that I like the most is the one where you start the fight with a dead teammate. That makes things easier.

Try using a potion instead a green, works for me. The W-Item glitched worked for me on my first playthrough, but it wasn't working for me recently, until I switched over to using a potion instead of a green. Hope that help.

Couple things to keep in mind.... make sure to equip ribbons on all characters if you can, so no bullshiit ailments interrupt the process. Also, go into your config and put ATB to wait.

after selecting morph, and choosing which enemey to use it on, go into your w-item, selecting the green to use and cast it on an opponent, and then put your cursor over the Next green, and after the morph when you see the source appear in your inventory, THEN select the green so it shows to pick which enemy, then cancel.
It can be confusing, but once you figure it out its no prob.

Best area for power sources is Mt. Nibel, particulary the reactor, just run circles in front of reactor, the highest spawn rate. On the side note, you can use sources after the stat in maxed, about 50 or so in every char. That goes for every stat

Just A Reminder About 2 Other Videos Fuzz :D

2. You MUST Have BOTH VICES ALIVE For This To WORK, Otherwise You Cannot Do It. Use ENEMY SKILL "Frog Song" On BOTH THEM FAST BEFORE They STEAL Off You. Now They Both Are ASLEEP But NOT FROGS! That's GOOD!
3. Use ONE Of Your OTHER 2 WAKE UP ONE Vice With A REUSE Of Frog Song. If LUCKY, He SHOULD STEAL Something Off You. HOPE That It Is SOMETHING Your TRYING To DUPLICATE! This Is Where It RELIES On LUCK!
4. NOW, Have SOMEONE OTHER THAN The ONE With W-Item Kill ONLY THE ONE That Stole Your Item, And At SAME TIME, Do The W-Item TRICK You DID On The Turks! The "Stolen Item" Comes BACK IN Your Inventory, And You CAN Duplicate It As Necessary! You Don't NEED 99(33 Is Actually GREAT) But It's GOOD To Have MULTIPLE COPIES Of RARES!
There Is A VIDEO Of This Trick On YT, And I THINK Lomax Mentioned Doing A Video On This Trick As Well, His Was Just A TINY BIT Different But STILL SIMILAR.
Also With The Trick In This Video, You Can Do The SAME With Guard Sources From Bagnadranas In Mt Corel Or "Spirals" On The Grass Plains And Dirt Plains Near Mideel, And Luck Sources And Speed Sources With Bad Raps And Poodlers In The Sunken Gelnika. :D

Conformer and morph all work wonders I put morph on the conformer i wait til disc 3 to morph power sources

This is not the fastest method to do this. You do not need the conformer, you don't need the dummy items either.
1. you need 1 potion or other useable item in slot 1.
2. you need a source item in slot 2.
3. you morph a enemy with that source item.
4. during the morph you do the W-item trick, now the same thing happened that happened in your case.

Conformer just makes it a bit easier to morph that is all. If you can rng manip, you can have a source stolen from you, and then use w-item to dupiclate that. Speedruns used to do that.
