About this video: Forge is one of the most popular Minecraft mod loaders. This is our complete guide on how to download and install Forge for 1.21.1. To get started, we will need to download the Forge Installer for 1.21.1. There is a link in the description above that will take you to our complete guide on how to get Forge 1.21.1 From where to download Forge to how to install Forge. On this page, click the “Download Forge” button to go to Forge’s official download page.

On this page, click on “1.21” on the left-hand side and select “1.21.1”. Under the “Download Latest” option, select “Installer”, and you will be take to a page where you need to wait about 10 seconds. After about 10 seconds, click the red “Skip Ad” button in the top right. This will skip the ad, and the 1.21.1 Forge installer will start downloading.

It is worth noting you need to get Java 21 as well, if you don’t already have it, to install Forge for 1.21.1. There is a link to our Forge guide in the description above.

With the Forge installer downloaded, we can move on to how to install Forge 1.21.1 in Minecraft. To get started, find the Forge file you downloaded, and open it up with Java. Then, in the Forge Installer, click “Install Client” and click “Okay”. As long as Minecraft and the Minecraft Launcher are closed and you’ve played 1.21.1 before, Forge will successfully install.

Now, open up the Minecraft Launcher and click on “Installations” at the top. Make sure “modded” is checked in the top right, and you will see a Forge 1.21.1 installation. Hover over this and click Play. Then, click “Play” again. Forge 1.21.1 will now open in Minecraft!

In order to install Forge mods for 1.21.1, you will need to download them. There is a link in the description above to CurseForge and Modrinth. There, you can filter for 1.21.1 Forge mods. It’s worth noting that any mods you install must be for the Forge mod loader and version 1.21.1. Mods for any other mod loader, such as NeoForge or Fabric, will not work!

Once you have your Forge mods downloaded, we can install them in Minecraft 1.21.1. With Minecraft open with Forge, go to the main menu and click the “mods” button. This is your Minecraft mod menu. In the bottom left, you will see a “Mods Folder” button. Click this to open your mods folder.

Finally, drag-and-drop the Minecraft 1.21.1 Forge mods you want to install into this mods folder. This is how to install Forge mods in 1.21.1. However, you will need to restart Minecraft in order for the mods to actually work. Just make sure to play with your Forge 1.21.1 installation.

To anyone with "Exit Code 1" problem:
There are two things that can cause this.
1. You have outdated mods in your "mods" folder in minecraft directory. Try deleting everything from there and trying to run it again.
2. You have outdated graphic or/and CPU drivers. That was the case with my PC. I updated Nvidia drivers through GeForce Experience app and CPU drivers via AMD Software Adrenaline. I'm not which one exactly caused the problem, CPU or Graphics, but after both updates my Forge is working just fine. Try it out.
