In February, 1983, I walked the Milford on my honeymoon. Thank you for sharing this incredible film. That memory is as fresh as can be.

One joy Kraig doesn't mention on this guided hike are the drying rooms. You could come in with completely soaked clothes and boots, and everything would be dry and warm by morning. An amazing feeling.

Thank you for chronicling our hike. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I’m jealous that your videos get more views than my organic chemistry videos.

In WW2 my father was a Marine in the south Pacific. They stationed his ship in New Zealand once briefly. He never talked about the war to us boys. But he told me that New Zealand was the best place he ever saw. He said it was insanely beautiful. We live in the UP of Michigan, born and raised here. There are three Great Lakes that grace our shores..Lake Superior shoreline is incredibly beautiful year round. I can drive there any time i want to a couple of hours away... I never got tired of the Great Lakes and will never leave this place. If you have not looked at it please do. Would be awesome to see a video from you on it. Mackinac Island is incredible but only accessible until the lake freezes.there are no cars allowed on the island, only bicycles and horse drawn carriages or horse riding. The Grand Hotel was built in 1887 it is indeed a walk into the past.

Loved this . I was surprised you didn’t show more of the waterfalls. It was an amazing hike and nice to do it with you.

I lived in NZ for a few years back in 2016-2018 and this just brought back so many nostalgic memories from one of my favourite places on Earth. Thanks for the great watch! Much love from the UK.

Fabulous video...captures the magic of this great hike which I was able to complete in fine weather in January 2023..quite a spiritual experience even for a New Zealander.❤

I did the classic (Milford+Routeburn) in March of 2013 with this group as well! One of my best and most memorable experiences of my life. Having food prepared + showers + drying rooms redefined what luxury is on the trail. Can't wait to do it again...

Thanks Kraig for such a video. We had done the track last month, December 2023, and the weather is in favor for us, three days super fine day and the last day was a rainy day which you can see waterfalls surrounding you towards to end of the track. Amazing experience!

Amazing. Love to see more behind the scenes with setups. Like how do you not get left behind by the group when having to setup the tripod, walk, and then come back to get it again. Must be some running and super fit my guy! Congrats on everything and living out many peoples dreams

I’m a local and it’s also hard to book so I did it in the off season with unmanned huts, a bit cold but we made our own fire and quiet. I recommend taking the excursion to Southland falls after the MacKinnon pass if you have enough energy. Also this place gets over 6m of rainfall per year so rain is part of the game and makes it special get some nice gortex and merino base layers for Fiordland in general.

Those fiords are one of those special places on earth. I once did a kayak trip on Doubtful Sound - absolutely majestic.
