It’s okay, I think it’s a lot harder to get consistent strikes, but it also doesn’t split a lot so it has its ups and downs. Non strings would be better overall

I could say a lot, but to sum it up, I would not bowl again. I've been bowling faithfully for over 30 years, leagues and tournaments. I enjoy the competition and making money. You can't recreate free falling pins. It would be like putting a string on a golf ball so you never lose it!!! I know it helps the proprietor save money but will lose in the long run. Pro bowling would not be taken seriously!! Someone needs to create a inexpensive way to keep the pins free falling!!!

String Pin Bowling should be its own thing, but it is nothing alike free fall bowling.

I'm not sure how I would feel about it until I actually bowled in a house that had them.

I experienced this for the first time yesterday. I bowl maybe twice a year and was livid about these strings. It’s awful!!

I'm in-between on this one. I don't like string pins because of the lack of motion, but I like how you can get string action

Don’t strings make it harder to convert splits?

Of course my town that’s turning to Miami and every body and there mother is moving here decided to go corporate. Renovation for the rich and kids, then they put STRINGS as well. I just came back to bowling after 15 years away. Maybe I should’ve never came back. Would love to move to some where that will stick with original pins

I've never done string bowling. But I've seen enough of it to be pretty sure that I would hate it.

According to national studies that have been done on this. There is no significant difference between free falling pins and string pins

That being said, though, I don’t think I would wanna play on a bowling alley with strings, cause it seems like a cheap alternative to the automatic pinsetter

I hate string pins, but in this case, the pins reacted appropriately. That was a weak 10 all day….

I absolutely hate them, but I think the way to make them better to more replicate Freefall would be to make the strings longer but not in the way you might think. I think the strings should be longer but it should be where its not failing onto the deck and instead there should be its own pulley that will still lift the pins to where they still reset normally but in the matter that the strings can extend when the pins are hit and not pull them back like traditional machines do making it so you can get more of that Freefall style pin action.

To me it looks like the pins fall different than free fall pins

I see this all the time in free fall. What's the big deal?

Let it have its own thing don’t force it upon the whole industry just to make some new money with equipment not even made in the USA. “Assembled in the USA” give me a break with the word play. #Traitors

I would quit bowling if string pins were my only option

It saves money for bowling centers but messes with the bowling side of it, causes issues and inaccurate pin action
