Sony actually makes the best OLED TV in the world. it's not for consumer level. Hollywood uses it for movie editing. Award wining OLED master monitor. If you know anything about OLED, then you would know this. "RGB" is the reference series by Sony. LG is using "RGBW". There is a complete difference between LGs version of the OLED and the true OLED monitor by Sony. Do the research guys.

I'd much rather have a 1080p OLED over a 4K LCD thing.
Not going to replace my beautiful Pana Plasma until I can get a big 4K OLED for £2000.
Screen tech is much more important than resolution, my two main screens are both 42", ones a Sony 1080p LCD, the other a Panasonic 1080p Plasma. Same res, same size, similar price when new. But the picture of the Pana is a completely different league, a good plasma looks similar in contrast and colour to an OLED, LCDs just look flat and grey and disgusting. Only disadvantage of plasma is power consumption and max brightness, but who gives a crap about a couple hundred extra watts when most other people leave every light in the house on

Brightness isn't really a good selling point imo. Once everything is OLED or AMOLED, that's all they'll have left until they bump up the resolution again.

The Sony Z9 television beats with ease an LG OLED flagship. By far the best tv on the market.

Whoever is telling you that you can't beat the black levels of OLED with an LCD, this has 0 nit blacks so it has absolute pure blacks too when each LED zone is turned off. If every single pixel has a backlight behind it, it can achieve pure blacks exactly like OLED. There is no single backlight in this TV, there are multiple backlights behind clusters of every 4 pixels so there are pure blacks but blooming occurs and it is extremely minimal, almost unnoticable. When it comes to brightness, having 0 nit blacks and 1300 nits max brightness means it will definitely have a more contrasty appearance than any OLED right now. When it comes to colors too, there are new QD phosphors that allow for OLED equivalent colors. I would recommend this over an OLED anyday. I won't have the money to buy this right now so I will wait till Sony comes out with models that have a micro LED behind every single pixel and increase the pixel shutters to MEMS which can operate in sub-milliseconds, that way OLED will have absolutely no advantage.

Stubborn Sony finally beat OLED tech through expensive R&D only for 6K. -__-

Something tells me that the 100 inch is going to be over $50, 000. Might be closer to the $100, 000 mark.

I will never be able to get a 4K tv or much less a high end model. And that because of the size....I need a tv between 32'- 42' max size and if Sony can make a 4K smartphone then make a "small" 4k tv !

Sony is awesome! "you guys complain about dim tvs?!" (Trolls the world by making a TV soo bright it's like shining a flashlight in your eyes) “There shut up, and give me your money "! My favorite tvs are Sony because they have much more true to live color so this TV is pretty much all they needed, but damn $7000?! I'm good, I can wait...

My Samsung from 2007 is still rolling strong. Going from 720p to 4K is going to be mind blowing when I finally do upgrade.

LG is best because they are investing in OLED.

i TRULLY beleive hdr is a gimmick, you either have the colors in the image file or not, that simple. then just output that one to one direct, most hdr seems to be just TV settings making colors more vivid. same gimmick face cream manufactures use by saying it has a special compound to fight wrinkles when it's all bull. by now all tvs should be able to show all the possible colors available, maybe they just just turn so e colors off using software in cheaper tvs without hdr logo, scam?!?
