EDIT: I have 5 submissions already and can only fit one or two more into one video. If you send me your pictures and I dont use yours in the next video, I may make a part 2 based on feedback from the first video.
I am bound to get asked if YOU, the viewer, should bulk or cut. If you would like my opinion send me a DM on Instagram with your pictures or email me and I will make a follow up video going through and letting you know my opinion. I think that would make for a great video and will give me real life case studies to go through and let everyone know why or why not bulk/cut. (Of course with your permission only and I would not show anyones face as well)

Again, this video paints very broad strokes since every person is different. I hope that many of you can take this video and apply it to yourself in some form or fashion, but it would be impossible to make a 12 minute video and be able to apply a multitude of different circumstances to each situation. If you would like to see a follow up video that dives deeper into either bulking or cutting please let me know in the comment section below or attach a comment to this thread.

TRIGGER ALERT: I put the word fat in one of the sections because literally the most searched phrase on YouTube for this type of video is "im fat should i cut or bulk" and to be true to the definition at that bodyfat percentage a person is technically considered fat.

Until next time.

I appreciate your explanations here a lot… it makes way, way more sense to talk about specific scenarios instead of simply saying to everyone “you just need to maingain!”

As other have commented, this make a lot of sense for optimizing the growth potential, scaling in to allow for a cut & de-load. Greg's main-gaining premise makes sense for someone who want's to maintain a body-builder physique year round and maybe put on a little muscle. It really depends on people's goals, and likely consistency which your video addresses with a very clear sample. While there is a market for both approaches I feel that yours supports a greater percentage of the population. Thanks for the quality info :)

A 100 calorie surplus will make you fat! BULKING IS ILLEGAL!!!!

Nah thank you for the video dude. You have a real gift in your ability to deliver detailed, quality information in a digestible way. Buon Anno!

It's very interesting to hear you telling us this through concrete examples Instead of saying that bulking is shit or ideal. I'd be Curious to see what would part two be

What about those who are around 15-20% with a decent amount of muscle but still have that layer of fat covering up their body? Do you recommend to lose the fat or still focus on adding muscle? I am 19 yrs old FYI

The question is, should I bulk a little bit like 10 or 15 extra pounds or should I bulk a lot like 20 or 30 extra pounds and how long? I think I am skinnyfat because I look thinner, but under the clothes I look kinda chunky. Also, how do you bulk on a budget. My overall goal is just to be fitter and healthier not bodybuilding and I am not in a sport.

A skinny fat instead of cutting or bulking they can mantaing same weight and tell them eat clean as possible cut out process carbs, sugars and eat more salads, fruits, herbs that have evidence to burn brown fat and doing a strength training that there increasing progresive overload they will lose fat because is there first time training and eating healthy while they are mantaining same weight there will also gain muscle because the body reacts when your newbie training

I gained all my size bulking, but I will say dieting it off took a full year and it sucked, I'm currently maintaining.

Do you think doing bodyweight workouts is the second best option for muscle growth if a person is unable to go to the gym?

for example 3.. was that 8lbs of muscle and 13fat just an estimate or did you calculate that somehow??

Been working out for 9 months so far and my body already recomped hard. Started of 173lb with around 22-23% body fat and am currently 190lb at around 21-22%. I look somewhat leaner than how I started and much bigger. Does the recomping end at some point where I will have to choose to bulk or cut, or can the recomping continue at a slower rate?
