Definitely one of the prettiest Barbie's from the 2000's. Your point at the end about inflated value is true of a lot of collectible hobbies right now. Retro gaming is something I really care about, and prices have gotten so ridiculous for otherwise invaluable stuff thanks to flippers and resellers.

This makes me so happy to see you appreciate this doll in a video alone 💙 I used to own her when I was 4 but didn’t exactly take good care of her 😂 a really sweet friend of mine got me one for my 22nd birthday last year off eBay that was still in box and I had to take off the fermented rubber bands off too and they broke instantly and he ones in her hair got meshed in like glue in it so I had to boil wash and redo her hair 🤍

5:15 i feel like this happens because at being in a box without ventilation and attach to rubber bands, this make the dolls self destroy. While outside the box, they can have a nicer temperature in treat that can keep the dolls in perfect conditions for longer

I'm glad that you were able to add her to your collection:) I collect the African American variants of the early Barbie movie dolls (along with a few of the fashion packs/gift sets), and it still surprises me the amount details and just the quality in general that these dolls embody. Unfortunately, my Odette had a misprint, so I ended up giving her away. As always, thanks for sharing!

This was my favorite Barbie when I was little 🥹 she's so pretty, I had the most fun with those wings, the batteries last forever, I remember the wings still lit up when I gave her away to my younger cousin. Mine was definitely well played with 😂 her hair was a mess when I parted with her

Gosh this unlocked a memory for me sitting in my Nan’s house watching Barbie swan lake on tape I remember loving the animal kids and her tiara was so pretty!! I think you only Barbie doll I had was the Repunzal one that had a hair growing thing I think I can still remember the TV advert for her!!! 😂

I loved this video so much. This Odette is truly one of the loveliest Barbies every created. I think her and Clara are my top two. In Australia it is impossible to buy Barbies cheap, so I hope the bubble bursts soon and I can buy all the Barbies on my wish list. Everything you said about Star Wars was very interesting. I love that sort of toy history.
