Maryanne with her wish for her heart cut out and buried, her penchant for animal rugs, statues of naked men and tortoises, and incredible decor, is one of the most eccentric and creative persons I have seen on any British series. Love this show ❣

This is without a doubt THE most beautiful English house and gardens I've ever seen. What an accomplishment. Well Done, Robbs!!! As the owner of a much less beautiful and historic home and gardens in America, but one I've worked on for 9 years, and in large part made my own, I can completely identify with wanting to die in what I've created, and never have to live anywhere else.

The government of Great Britain should have given the Robbs an award for restoring that home and creating such magnificent gardens.

I'm no gardener but WOW that one is gorgeous and the house, oh my that house.

I've visited quite a few National Trust gardens, but none of them can compete with what I've just seen. This Manor is unparallel and it's on my bucket list now

The sculptures really add a wonderful dimension to the terrific gardens. I see the property was sold a while ago and I hope the new owners will make it a fabulous place to visit.

Alistair died in 2016 and since then the house and gardens have been managed by Mary-Anne, now 80, and her daughter Charlie Campbell. The manor has become a wedding venue and the setting for films, the most recent being China Girl in 2018 and The Voyage of Dr Dolittle.Jun 21, 2020
Robb decided to sell Cothay Manor because she said she would like to release some equity to distribute to her children. She says she intends to stay in Somerset.
In early June 2020, the property was listed for sale at £5 million, and sold in October 2020 to its new owners for £5.25M.

I love that Ruth is forthright and well-researched in her rescue plans. Is it me, or was this episode’s music track overpowering the speech track?

I've been watching " Country House Rescue " on channel TLC for several years now and I adore this serial! I'm also a fan of Ruth Watson, admiring her practical and witty advices.

Ruth:- 'that's what I like about Marianne - she's ruder than I am' This was a wonderful episode and the pair were magnificent - loved them both! Thank you for the upload

Turn the music down so we can hear the dialogue!

Unbelieveable what they achieved with the house. They saved it. Her heart is really in the house and the gardens. I hope it's in good hands with the new owners !

So, Ruth's advice did not fall on deaf ears after all. In the end crawl, we are told of plans to create a tea room in 2009 - which originally, Marianne was uber resistant to. She finally I think, "got" the message, that the tours, the events, the plant sales and the teas and food are a way of sustaining her beloved gardens, as well as defraying the costs of running the place.

Mary-Anne is fundamentally an artist in her soul.

I would love to keep watching their videos on YouTube if they had one. There’s a great potential for them to have thousands of people subscribing and being patrons.

Marianne was absolutely in her element when she was rushing around, getting paper plates, greeting everyone and overseeing the plant sales. I’m so glad she got to share her art (gardening is an art!) with the world!

One of my favorites! Cothway is stunning, the interiors tastefull and the gardens a marvel. Love this episode. Mary-Anne is so full of character and determination but a very strong headed person. Pitty she didn't realize that they must solve the inheritance issue as soon as possible. She clearly adores the estate but she is narrow minded about its future. Mr. Alastair died in 2015 and fullfilled his dream to die there I assume. Do we know if Mrs Robb is still alive and in good condition? She must be in her 80s now. So sad to hear that the property sold for over £5 million in 2020. It must have been heartbreaking for her and her dream to cut out her heart and burry it to the gardens...

Breathtaking. The estate is
lucky to have such care. Good daughter Charlie fights for fairness for her siblings.

Glad to see a few family members stepped up to help!

Very interesting house, but the music is way too loud, difficult to understand the narrator sometimes, and the music is depressing anyway.
