The successful movie *Prey* gave new life to the Predator franchise in 2022. Now, Predator is back with a new standalone film called *Badlands*. The Predator series started with the movie *Predator* in 1987, where mercenaries on a rescue mission in South America face an alien creature that hunts them for sport. Besides being a popular Arnold Schwarzenegger film, *Predator* had obvious franchise potential that filmmakers have kept exploring for over thirty years.
