Microsoft's new Xbox One S and Sony's PlayStation 4 "Slim" have bucked the generational gaming console trend. With newer, more powerful systems on the horizon, it bears asking: Which of these stopgaps is worth spending your paycheck on?

The AUX port was not removed on the PS4 Slim, only the optical one.

Besides the PS4 slim running on better hardware than the Xbox One S, and being able to upgrade the internal storage yourself, the PS4 definitely has bigger, better, and more varied game library.

Unless you have to play Forza, Halo, or Gears of War, make the correct choice and go with PS4.

The Xbox One S is what it should have been.
The 4K BluRay drive isn't really worth it and it does nothing for gaming.

consoles suck, just download the PS4 installer and play them on the PC, giving you the ability to play 1000s of games on one machine.

Personally, im not big on Japanese games. The cultural aspect just doesn't resonate with me; there are some but few exceptions. You have to base this decision
 on software not hardware.
