It's hard not to get excited about anything new coming from Nintendo for me. I didn't get a Wii U day one I waited for Windwaker HD to pick one up. I also didn't get a switch day one I waited for Splatoon 2 to release which to be fair was "launch window". Switch 2 is a lot of money in Canada $699 for the Mario Kart Bundle here and I think it's important to understand right now games for Switch release at $79.99CND and with tax are $90.38 if switch 2 games breach that $100 mark with tax it's really going to make me be very choosy when it comes to games. Also like you said that is the price before tariffs though I am not sure they will impact Canada the same way who knows. I have a lot of games to play on Switch still and Mario Kart world and Donkey Kong Bananaz look like great games I am sure I will pick them up at some point neither are a system selling game for me especially for this price. Series for me to buy a switch 2 would be an exclusive Pokemon, Zelda, Splatoon or even if the new Professor Layton game was switch 2 only then I would have to get the system to play Layton and the new world of steam. If games are still being offered on the original switch for now I will just buy them there.

Hi Steph! I’m so glad to have found your channel! Personally, with knowing how Nintendo does things, I had no intentions on buying the first version. In Nintendo fashion the usually release multiple other ones that bring something better to the table and in some cases are even cheaper, as they did with the Switch Lite. I understand the GameTubers NEED the system for their content though, so I will definitely live vicariously through you guys and gals! 😊

Great video 😊. I just wanted to help you out with some info. The dusk bloods is a nintendo switch 2 exclusive game. During the direct of the trailer. Some words poped up. Only on nintedo switch 2. I hope the preorders for switch 2 begin soon. Can't wait. I'm so excited. I've got store credit ready to go and I'm saving also.

We got Silksong confirmed for this year and a new Donkey Kong game, so for me it was a 11/10 direct!

I wanted to hear your reaction. Been patient, and here you are! 😊 Will you eventually get the switch 2 or consider it? As far as me, I am not a strong nintendo fan and would rather get a steam deck.

I wouldn't have a problem with Nintendo games being so expensive, if they were actually high budget games. They aren't spending the same way other AAA companies are to make their games. I also don't think Nintendo does a good job with pricing based on each game. They have very short low budget games priced at around the same as high budget games as well.

But yeah, I expected the price with the rumored (and now proven correct) specs. I will be more selective with my game purchases with Switch 2 though. I had planned on going all in on Switch 2 with games but I'll probably stick to multiplatform games only on handheld PC where its cheaper. Thankfully I only play Nintendo's rpgs and life sims, no $80 platformers for me 😆.

Now I'm wondering if they'll release a better battery model next year. 🤔 Thanks to scalping, it may take that long to buy one anyway...

Good evening, Steph... I like the system, but i don't think I will be making this purchase.

The problem is as much as gaming has grown and games selling drastically more, then the cost should be lower due to volume sold. Especially with everything having DLC, microtransactions, season passes, let alone glorified gambling, which is where the game developer/publishers make their money. Nintendo also is resistive to lowering prices of games that have been out for years. It comes off as a negative to me for them getting greedy.

The thickness the same as the Switch 1 is a mistake at that size, as is asking for more bending to me. It also means they lost on battery space; it didn't need to be a uniform thickness all the way, they could have had a small central bump for some additional power. The cooling also a factor I wonder about due to surface area. The dock is just a glorified passthrough with fan. Like they didn't pay attention to people wanting it to be the upscaler/additional processing they could have had it do.

I can’t get past the $90 for a game. Switch games are a different order from those on PS5 and Xbox. I can’t think of a single Switch game I would pay $90 for.

I love everything about the new improvements and size and power. A little disappointing with the battery life! The $69.99 price tag for games was expected since PS5 and Xbox are the same price but I think $80 is pushing it! I think Nintendo is being greedy and they are taking advantage of the fan base who are going to pay those prices but hurting the normal consumers who are going to have a hard time affording those prices! So I’m disappointed in Nintendo in that regard!

Duskbloods is exclusive. I'm gonna be so picky if 80 bucks is now for game tbh. I though it was Sony that will increase the price of the games again past 70 not Nintendo due to always hearing Sony cost are way higher than Nintendo
