Making Pomegranate Lime Champagne cold process soap (using 10 different mica colors)
Показать описание
I started thinking about the things that start to appear in the fall. To me its the chilly air in the morning, the leaves turning color, pumpkins and Halloween. Before adding to my fragrance collection I found a bottle of pomegranate fragrance. I've been shy about using it since it does discolor a bit. But the colors of the beautiful fruit captured my imagination. I thought about other fragrances that would mix well with pomegranate and give me some inspiration for coloring this soap. I could have combined a variety of red barring the fact that too much red in a soap can increase the amount of red in the rinse water. Aha! It dawned on me that I could incorporate some champagne fragrance. That would suggest the addition of a orangey gold. Then the scent of lime came to mind, which would add a wonderful zest to the scent and give me a reason to add green to the design.
I know that having variations of particular color could add more depth to the design. Before I knew it, I was working with 10 different mica colors! Drop swirls to echo the idea of falling leaves became my plan. Will the soap look too busy with all those color? Will I be able to work with mixing up 10 soap colors end up disastrous due to the work time involved and having to end up glopping the soap in the mold? I'll have to work quickly. This video will answer those questions.
Thanks for sticking with me as I encounter round after round of tech problems. I'm a resilient fellow, so doing something about the camera, in this case order new camera memory cards, and changing my web host company makes me feel that all is not hopeless. And, yes! I've got all of you to boost my spirits too! I hope that you'll check out my new webstore when it's set up.
Say hello on instagram too! You can find it by searching for vibrant soap.
Hope this longish commentary finds you well. It's you all who keep my creative endeavors going. Reach out and comment when you can and I do appreciate the thumbs up. Take care!
