The only thing I wanted to know was how to calculate the angles for cutting the wood but that was not even covered.

Why stain it if you want to paint it ?

So to calculate odd angles... Every circle has 360 degrees. If you want six sides to your "circle", as in this hexagon shelf, take 360 and divide it by the number of angles that make up the circle (in this case, six angles). 360 divided by 6 is 60, meaning you need to cut your angles at 60 degrees.

Want a 10-sides box? 360/10 = 36 degree angles.
Want a 3 sided box (a triangle)? 360/3 = 120 degree angles.

It helps to use a pencil and draw lines on the edges of the wood, that way you don't get confused when you go to cut the angles in your saw.

What was the size of your cut wooden panels?

Hold up you stain, then use wood glue? No. Don't bother. Stain is oil based, titebond is water-based. Stain will interfere with the wood glue seeping into the wood fibers and properly bonding. Ffs Stain and paint is the last step after construction so you can ensure the finish won't be damaged by assembly. And for anyone freaking out about the angle, its 30° on each side. You can use any wood you want of just about any width, just be smart about what you're going to put on it. Use a table saw set to 30° and the miter gauge to make consistent cuts.

“After cutting the wood...” Uh, don’t you think mentioning how you did that - saw type and angles - might be important?

Plus, those ugly gaps in the lead edge could have been fixed with wood putty, esp. since you spray painted it all.

So the whole idea is to learn how to make them but it's just how to paint because you didn't mention anything about the angles.

Cute idea but this video needs more details on how you cut the pieces of wood and what measurements you used.

Ditto with most other commenters. Did I miss the part where you bought the pre cut wood?
