It's people like you who make this world beautiful. It's so awesome to see how you ended up transitioning into a career that had nothing to do with your previous major. Stories like these show us that anything is possible and I appreciate you sharing that. My instructor suggested you for our ATI proctor exams and they're around the corner. I couldn't thank you enough for what you have done for me and everyone else that has found you. Much Love from an LVN/LPN student. Don't worry I'll be sure to come back and tell you I passed them!

Cathy, you helped me get through nursing school and now you are helping me get through the storm as a new graduate nurse. I'm in orientation working on a med surg flr. I'm always late in passing my meds and I stay late every shift just to complete my charting. I'm so overwhelmed and my confidence has dropped since I start working as a nurse. Watching this video is giving me motivation. Hopefully, I can get another position within my hospital in a few months.

It has been difficult to find people who can relate to me, I went to grad school for interior architecture and design, engineering is a "cousin" to that. I have worked with many engineers. But hearing you talk is so helpful! I had the same concerns to make sure healthcare was a good fit, I lift my job at a cabinetry company, and took on a position as a home care aide (when covid hit), the classes I have taken to be introduced into the healthcare field are from the medical assistant program, because I didn't want to start over again in school and make a huge commitment and it not be right for me. I have a husband and three kids, it will be a difficult road ahead to complete the education I hope to attain. Your story is so inspiring, especially because I see the similarities with my own. I made almost twice as much money as I make now in Interior Design, but I wasn't fulfilled in my office job, used autocad 8-12 hours a day and a poor quality of life. I really wanted to help people and with 50-60 hour work weeks and a less than friendly boss, I felt like I was fading away... It's time for a new path! Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi! Not sure if you will see my comment as your video is 2 years old! I am 49 and am considering going back to school for nursing. I actually started out at 18 in nursing school but quit when I got to clinicals and I've always sort of regretted it. I've been a stay at home mom for 20 years (my kids are 17 and 20) and the last 3 years I've had a small business in the papercrafting field and I love it, but it's many hours for very little income. I keep thinking about nursing and wondering if I will regret at the end of my life that I never became a nurse. I LOVE helping people and being kind and encouraging and helpful just comes so naturally for me. I loved all the coursework the first go round (although it was 30 years ago and I don't remember most of it!) and I know I would be a great student bc I love learning and I'm very disciplined. I actually got my 4 year degree in Health Science, so I've always loved health and wellness. There are 3 things that are tripping me up (and they are pretty silly, I know!): IVs, catheters, and night shift work! 😄 I absolutely do not want to do night shift work. I know several people whose health and well-being were quite adversely affected by night work and I do not want to go there. I've heard it's pretty much a requirement that you will have to work night shift as a new RN. Do you think that's the case? And the idea of inserting IVs and catheters just freaks me out...not bc I feel grossed out (no problems there), but I guess I worry I would hurt the patient if I didn't do it right or just knowing I was doing something painful to a person (even doing it correctly can be painful!) bothers me. Is this a common concern? Thank you for this video! It was really helpful and encouraging! 🤗💖💖💖💖

I heard these opinions about these kind of engineering Jobs. They are good financially wise but some people want emotional satisfaction like Nurse.

Do you think that being a volunteer helped you get the job as a transporter at the hospital?
