In this video, Coolest new features in Oracle 19c is that either when a flashback or point-in-time recovery is performed on the primary database in an Oracle Data Guard configuration, the same operation is also performed on the standby database as well.

Further, another new Oracle 19c feature is that when we create a Restore Point on the primary database, it will automatically create a restore point as well on the standby database.

These restore points are called Replicated Restore Points and have the restore point name suffixed with a “_PRIMARY”.

Let us have a look at this feature in action.

This is awesome!
As an Oracle DBA, we don't (thankfully) have to use GRPs very often.
But, when we do - it is a pain (pre-19c) to do so, when a standby DB was involved.

This is an amazing change, by Oracle, and your video explained the process very very well!
Thanks for putting this video up!

Very Good video, just have one confusion, if db_flash_retention_target
values in 1440, that means, all changes, from the time of guranteed
restore point creation, to next 1440 minutes will be captured, any
activity after 1440 minutes will not be captured?
